Public browsing

You can explore Clayton.guide without creating an account. Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site. Requests pass through its infrastructure and include technical information such as your IP address, requested page and browser information, used to deliver and protect the service. Cloudflare describes its handling of information in its Privacy Policy.

Build your day and Show me around keep your choices in this browser, as the next sections explain. Other tools, such as Can’t decide, keep your choices only while the page is open. Hosting providers may process requests and maintain operational records.

If you choose “Allow analytics,” public pages at clayton.guide load Google Analytics to measure visits, referring websites, device information and use of guide links and tools. Google receives technical request information, including your IP address and browser information. Analytics cookies help distinguish visits; our configuration sets their expiry to 30 days. Advertising storage, Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

Before you allow analytics, we do not load Google’s analytics tag or send analytics pings. You can choose “No thanks” or change your choice using Analytics preferences below the navigation. Opting out stops measurement, removes this site’s analytics cookies and reloads the page. A browser Global Privacy Control signal keeps analytics off. Blocking scripts or declining means those visits and actions will not appear in our reports.

We send the public page path and reviewed interaction categories. We remove query parameters and fragments and reduce referring links to their website origin. We do not send submission text, names, email addresses, photo details, credit choices or private receipt links to analytics. Staff Studio and private receipt and withdrawal pages are excluded.

For public listing links and the food chooser, those categories can include the public listing identifier and the kind of action, such as a menu or directions click. Planning tools report limited categories and counts, such as a step being used or a day being shared; they do not send your saved itinerary, dates or full answers. These statistics measure interactions, not completed purchases or reservations.

When analytics is available, your allow or decline choice is saved in this browser under guide-them:analytics-choice:v1 until you change it or clear site data. If storage is unavailable, the choice applies only to the current page. This preference does not contain your itinerary or contact details.

Appearance preference

Choosing light or dark stores that preference in this browser under guide-them:appearance:v1. A theme query parameter can override it. If browser storage is unavailable, the control still works for the current page. No account is created.

Build your day and Show me around

Build your day keeps the stops you choose and its settings (the day, how long you want to be outside, and whether kids or a dog are coming) in this browser under guide-them:clayton-day:v1, so your day is still there when you come back. The Add to my day buttons on other pages add to the same list.

Show me around keeps your answers, the ideas you save and your place in the walk under guide-them:clayton-start:v1. While a walk is under way it also sets guide-them:clayton-start:from:v1, which lasts only until you close the tab, so other pages can show the way back to it.

These stay in your browser and are not sent to us. Start over clears the walk, and clears the stops from your day while keeping its settings. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes all of it. If browser storage is unavailable, both tools still work while the page is open.

A link you copy or share from either tool carries your day or your walk after the # sign. Browsers do not send that part of a link to our server, but anyone you give the link to can see what is in it: the stops and settings, or the answers and saved ideas. It holds nothing else about you.

Google photos and details

Google photos and details are switched off. The guide does not ask Google for anything about the places it lists, and its pages load no images from Google. Directions and Google Maps links take you to Google, where the Google Privacy Policy applies.

Tips sent by email

New tips are paused, by email as well as through the form. If you email us, for example about an earlier submission, your email service sends us your address and any name, text or attachments you include. The founder and creative review team use that information to reply and, for a contribution, to review it and check permission to publish. Emailing us never publishes anything automatically.

A public credit name is optional; we do not publish your email address. We review the content and your publication permission before adding a tip or photo to the guide. To request a correction or withdrawal, reply to the email conversation and identify the contribution so we can locate it.

Contributions sent through the form

The contribution form is paused and is not taking new tips or photos. When it is open, you can use it without an account. We collect the words, original photo files and permission choice you submit. A requested public credit name and a private follow-up email are optional. Cloudflare receives the form, and Supabase stores the material privately for the founder and creative review team.

Submitting material does not publish it. Editors review its usefulness, factual claims and permission before adding anything to the guide. We do not publish your contact email. Without a contact address, we cannot follow up with you directly.

To request a correction or withdrawal, email submissions@clayton.guide and describe the contribution and the place or topic it concerns. We may need more information to identify it and verify your request. Completed private withdrawals remove the original files and redact submission text and contact details; minimal staff and withdrawal records remain. Published pages, editorial downloads and older recovery copies require separate handling. We also review unused and incomplete submissions for removal.

Staff sign-in

The separate staff Studio uses Supabase authentication when configured. Signing in processes staff account and authentication information and uses session cookies to maintain access. Public browsing does not require a Studio session. See the Supabase Privacy Policy for that provider’s practices.

External businesses, booking services and other linked websites handle information under their own policies. Information you submit on those sites goes to those providers.

We will update this page as the guide’s features and information practices change. Our Terms of Use explain use of the site and its content.
